Ladies in Fellowship Together (LIFT) of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church gathered for an afternoon of fellowship and fun Thursday, July 10.

Everyone was a winner and the theme of the event was “Christmas in July: Bingo, Blessings and a Pillow Drive!”

Guests were invited to play bingo for a chance to win tasty treats. Guests were also asked to bring new bed pillows to donate to De Colores shelter in Phoenix.

According to a press release, the facility provides protective shelter for families in need. They provide meals, clothing, toiletries, case management and legal advocacy.

Every individual entering De Colores receives a brand new pillow — a great comfort during a difficult time.

All women invited

All women in the Fountain Hills community are invited to participate in monthly LIFT events. The group meets for fellowship, to plan community outreach programs, take field trips, host gala festivals and charity events and to present educational and spiritual speakers.

Activities include outings to theaters and cultural centers, community outreach programs and dining at area restaurants.

LIFT’s vision statement is “To support women, providing outreach in the church and the community through faith, fellowship and fun.”
