Fountain Hills: Sheriff's call log

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting that deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, Aug. 1, through Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Thursday, Aug. 1.

*A resident of the 11000 block of Oasis Drive reported that an unknown subject used the victim’s address to make a fraudulent online purchase.

*A resident of the 16000 block of Nicklaus Drive reported that an unknown subject used the victim’s personal information to open multiple credit accounts without permission.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on McDowell Mountain Road (MP2). A driver was stopped for criminal speed traveling 76 miles per hour where the speed limit is 45. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*A deputy stopped a motorist at Fountain Hills and Saguaro boulevards for speeding traveling 49 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. A check of records revealed that the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*A resident of the 15000 block of Palisades Blvd. reported that an unknown subject took the license plate off the victim’s vehicle while it was parked at a residence.

*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. where it was reported that an unknown subject shoplifted items from a convenience store.

*Deputies received a report that an unknown subject threw a rock in the roadway at El Lago and Fountain Hills boulevards causing damage to the victim’s vehicle.

*Deputies received a report from a business in the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. that an unknown subject threw a rock into a window causing damage to a business.

Friday, Aug. 2

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard and Arista Lane. A driver was stopped for criminal speed traveling 76 miles per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*Deputies responded to the 11000 block of Indigo Drive for a reported domestic violence assault. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

Sunday, Aug. 4

*A resident of the 16000 block of Glenbrook Blvd. reported that an unknown subject posed as a deputy sheriff to defraud the victim out of approximately $1,500.

*Deputies responded to Shea Boulevard and Palatial Drive for a traffic collision reported after a vehicle struck a javelina in the roadway. No injuries were reported no vehicles were towed.

*A resident of the 14000 block of Briarwood Drive reported that a subject used the victim’s personal information without permission to apply for government assistance.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Shea Blvd. where it was reported that an unknown subject shoplifted merchandise from a business.

*Deputies responded to Palisades Boulevard and Verde River Drive where it was reported that an unknown subject damaged a street sign causing approximately $1,000 in damage.

*A resident of the 14000 block of Armijo Drive reported that an unknown subject posed as an attorney to defraud the victim out of approximately $8,500.

Tuesday, Aug. 6

*Deputies responded to Palisades and Shea boulevards for a reported traffic collision. A driver rear ended a second vehicle at a stop light. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed.

*A resident of the 15000 block of Ocotillo Drive reported that an unknown subject used the victim’s personal information without permission for a home rental application.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. where it was reported that a driver suffering from a medical issue struck a display outside of a business.

*Deputies received a report from an individual that an unknown subject defrauded the victim of approximately $89,000 during a fraudulent scheme.

Wednesday, Aug. 7

*Deputies responded to Sierra Madre and Cabrillo Drives where they made contact with a subject who had been observed with a dog at large. The subject was issued a citation.
