Sheriff’s Office sees surge in break-ins, speeding

Weekly update from Fountain Hills district

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting deputies responded to the following incidents during the time of Feb. 5-11

Thursday, Feb. 5

*Deputies responded to Spotted Horse and Palomino where it was reported unknown suspects entered Fountain Hills in a vehicle stolen out of El Mirage. The suspects abandoned the vehicle in the area of 11000 N. Spotted Horse and began checking door handles of vehicles parked in the area of Spotted Horse and Mustang. The subjects entered multiple vehicles and took items from some. They then stole a vehicle on Mustang and abandoned that vehicle a short distance away on Palomino in front of a residence where they stole another vehicle. They then continued down Palomino where they stole a third vehicle. The suspects then left Fountain Hills in the two stolen vehicles. Deputies determined the vehicles were captured by FLOCK cameras entering the El Mirage area later in the morning. Crime scene techs were called out to process the two recovered stolen vehicles. Property crimes detectives were called out to assist in the investigation. The stolen vehicles were recovered later in the day by MCSO detectives.
