Sheriff’s Office sees rise in calls for Fountain Hills heading into holiday

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting deputies responded to the following incidents that include five vehicle collisions during the time of Dec. 11 to Dec. 17.

Thursday, Dec. 11

*Deputies responded to the 15000 block of E. Cavern Dr. where a hit-and-run collision was reported after a vehicle struck a residential mailbox and fled the area without reporting the incident. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation based in Fountain Hills is reporting deputies responded to the following incidents that include five vehicle collisions during the time of Dec. 11 to Dec. 17.

Thursday, Dec. 11

*Deputies responded to the 15000 block of E. Cavern Dr. where a hit-and-run collision was reported after a vehicle struck a residential mailbox and fled the area without reporting the incident. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of E. Parkview Ave. where it was reported a private property vehicle collision occurred when a vehicle failed to yield while backing out of a parking space and struck another vehicle traveling in a parking lot. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed.

*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of N. Fountain Hills Blvd. where it was reported a private property collision occurred after two vehicles backing out of parking spaces and struck each other. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed.

*Deputies responded to the 15000 block of E. Pancho Villa Pl. where a domestic violence aggravated assault incident was reported. The victim was transported for emergency medical care. The suspect reportedly committed suicide prior to being contacted by deputies.

*Deputies responded to the 14000 block of N. Boxwood Ln. where it was reported a subject damaged the victim’s property while at a residence conducting a home inspection.

*Deputies responded to the 12000 block of N. Mountainside Dr. where it was reported an unknown subject posing as a computer technician remotely accessed the victim’s personal computer, took sensitive information and attempted to scam the victim out of money.

Friday, Dec. 12

*Deputies responded to Palisades Boulevard and La Montana Drive where it was reported a vehicle collision occurred after a driver failed to yield from a stop sign and struck another vehicle. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of E. Palisades Blvd. where it was reported a juvenile subject was found to be in possession of a marijuana vape device. Charges pending lab analysis.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of E. Parkview Ave. for a report of a stolen vehicle out of Mesa PD being located in Fountain Hills. Deputies contacted two subjects in the stolen vehicle. The driver was arrested and booked into jail on an outstanding warrant. Charges for vehicle theft and possession of dangerous drugs are pending.

Saturday, Dec. 13

*Deputies responded to the 12000 block of N. Saguaro Blvd. where it was reported the complainant was bitten by another person’s dog at a park. The incident was reported to Maricopa County Animal Control.

Monday, Dec. 15

*Deputies responded to Shea Boulevard and Palisades Boulevard where it was reported a traffic collision occurred after a vehicle failed to stop for a red light and struck another vehicle in the intersection. One driver was transported to the hospital for medical care. Both vehicles were towed.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of E. Shea Blvd. where it was reported two subjects shoplifted items from a business. Deputies contacted the subjects and, after a short foot pursuit, they were taken into custody and booked into jail for shoplifting.

Tuesday, Dec. 16

*Deputies responded to the 14000 block of N. Hawthorn Ct. where it was reported an unknown subject used the victim’s credit cards without permission.

*Deputies responded to Shea and Fountain Hills boulevards where it was reported a driver was stopped for making an improper left turn. A records check revealed the driver had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The driver was arrested and booked into jail on the warrant.

*Deputies responded to the 17000 block of E. Shea Blvd. where it was reported a subject made threats to kill the victim.

Wednesday, Dec. 17

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of E. Glenbrook Blvd. where it was reported an unknown subject attempted to open two bank accounts using the victim’s personal information without permission.

*Deputies responded to Palisades and Palomino boulevards where it was reported a driver was stopped for expired registration. A records check revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was issued a criminal citation.
