Shirley Crofoot

Shirley Crofoot, poet, lover, mother, smiling, friend, enigma. Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all she met. She always had a smile and warm welcome to family, friends, and strangers alike.

Shirley enjoyed mountains, lakes, oceans, gardens, beauty, practical jokes, holidays, and gatherings of all types. She believed in love and happiness, never accepted life without for long.

Shirley also wrote great prose for those she loved. She never had a hair or thread out of place, even if life around her was unraveling.

Born of the earth and lakes of Minnesota, but her soul belongs to the mountains and desert beauty of Arizona. All who had the privilege to meet her will miss her.

Shirley passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2015 at age 86. She will be remembered always by her family and friends. A service was held at Messinger Mortuary Fountain Hills on Thursday, Feb. 26.
