HomeSmart Premier Real Estate, VIP Mortgage and your hometown Sears Store are sponsoring a community shred-a-thon this Friday, March 4, from noon to 2 p.m.

The shred-a-thon will be held in the First American Title and Sears parking lot at the corner of Palisades and Saguaro Boulevard.

Shredding your personal or sensitive documents is an important step to protecting your identity. There is no limit to the amount of documents an individual can bring to be shredded.

This is a drive-thru shredding service and volunteers will be available to help unload boxes of documents from vehicles. The shredding will take place on-site and individuals can stay and watch their documents as they are shredded. Documents can be in manila (or similar folders) and do not need to be free of staples or paper clips.

The event sponsors will also have an ice-cream truck on site offering free ice cream and soft drinks for the public while waiting for their documents to be shredded. There will also be an opportunity to win prizes donated by the sponsors of the event as well as gift bags for all who attend.
