The Friends of the Fountain Hills Library have a safe solution to destroying old and unwanted sensitive documents.

The semi-annual shredding event is set for Saturday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to noon (or until the truck is filled).

The shredding event will take place in the Fountain Hills Branch Library parking lot, at the corner of El Lago Boulevard and La Montana Drive.

All documents are shredded on the site and brought to a recycling facility and recycled. There is a four-box limit of documents per person, and only soft cover folders can be shredded. Participants are asked not to park near the shredding truck in the parking lot.

Large bundles of papers should be loosened and all clips and binding or metal objects should be removed from the documents. Materials must be attended to at all times. Items left unattended will not be processed.

The event is free and available to residents in Fountain Hills, the Verdes and Fort McDowell.
