WALKABILITY

Sidewalks being built in Fountain Hills

Federal grant covers most of funding

A multi-million-dollar construction project to build sidewalks in Fountain Hills where they never have been, is now underway.

The objective is to improve pedestrian access and safety with the bulk of the work being done near downtown along major arterial streets.

Construction has begun on Saguaro Boulevard at Fountain Hills Boulevard to fill the walkway gap along both sides of Saguaro, eventually all the way to Colony Drive. Additionally, sidewalks will be built along Palisades Boulevard between La Montana Drive and Fountain Hills Boulevard. Also, a portion of El Lago Boulevard will be included near Saguaro Boulevard.
