Sign language class returns

The American Sign Language – Intermediate class will be presented beginning Tuesday, Jan. 9, with the Town of Fountain Hills Community Services Department hosting.

Participants must have completed the Beginners Sign Language Class with instructor Peggy Pope or get her approval to attend the Intermediate Class.

This 12-week course will focus on conversational American Sign Language, finger spelling, vocabulary, and sentence structure. Instruction will build upon the skills learned in the beginner’s class and practice advanced skills that students can do at home with use of a computer.

Sign language class returns

The American Sign Language – Intermediate class will be presented beginning Tuesday, Jan. 9, with the Town of Fountain Hills Community Services Department hosting.

Participants must have completed the Beginners Sign Language Class with instructor Peggy Pope or get her approval to attend the Intermediate Class.

This 12-week course will focus on conversational American Sign Language, finger spelling, vocabulary, and sentence structure. Instruction will build upon the skills learned in the beginner’s class and practice advanced skills that students can do at home with use of a computer.

Pope has an AA Degree in sign language interpreting. She has been in education for the past 22 years teaching various subjects at varied levels.

The sessions will be held on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 9, and continue each week through March 27. Class is held from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the Community Center.

Pre-registration is required as well as a 2018 Activity Center membership. Register on line at the town website fh.az.gov, or visit the Community Center.
