For the past eight years, Fountain Hills has celebrated Make a Difference Day annually on the fourth Saturday of October. The project connects volunteers with opportunities to serve others by providing assistance to those residents who are most vulnerable and in need of some support in their own community.

Make a Difference Day, the largest national day of community service in the country and is organized and sponsored by USA TODAY and Points of Light.

On Oct. 22, 300 volunteers in Fountain Hills will unite with a common mission – to improve the lives of others in the town. The “8th Annual Make a Difference Day” event will take place that day. Town volunteers come together to serve residents who could use assistance with a variety of projects in their homes in Fountain Hills.

If you know of someone, or are a resident, who would benefit from a morning of service in their home – it could be building a wheelchair ramp, washing windows and screens, cleaning and organizing the kitchen, tidying up landscaping, or painting a room – invite them to participate in Fountain Hills Make a Difference Day by calling Heather Ware, Coordinator of the program, at 480-816-5108 or emailing hware@fh.az.gov.

Those interested in volunteering to serve on Fountain Hills Make a Difference Day may visit the town website and register at fh.az.gov/madd.
