Our famous local artist, Carlos Hadaway, has donated a painting to the VFW to help raise funds to allow the completion of the VFW Post 7507’s build-out of its new “Post Home” and Veterans Resource/Community Center.

This painting is on display at the Community Center where it is on sale via silent auction. Please drop by the Community Center, take a look at the painting and place a bid to buy it. Bids are currently scheduled to end on Memorial Day.

This is a great opportunity to not only get an original Carlos Hadaway painting but also to support the VFW and its work supporting veterans and patriotic programs.

The VFW’s motto is “Honor the dead by helping the living.” Next weekend on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, VFW members along with members of the American Legion, AmVets and other community members, will commemorate our war dead in a ceremony at Fountain Hills Veterans Memorial in a ceremony which this year is organized by AmVets Post 7.

I hope you can attend this ceremony but, if you can’t, please take a moment during the day to remember those service members who have died in service to our country.

America is the Home of the free because of the brave.
