Sister Cities

The Fountain Hills Sister Cities group now boasts the full Town Council on its membership roll. Fountain Hills Councilman Nick DePorter just became the seventh and final Council member to seal the deal.

It’s a refreshing gesture and a reminder of why President Eisenhower created the Sister Cities movement in 1956. It was about peace and how to create it.

Milt Laflen, Arizona Sister Cities Board President, said more than a dozen towns and cities in the state have 55 sister cities. They’re looking for new members. Something to think about.

This is never said enough: Thank you Fountain Hills leadership and the membership for your support.
