The River of Time Museum and Exploration Center, in collaboration with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation (FMYN), have announce the tour dates for the 2024-25 Yavapai Tour Exploration Experience.

Held on Thursday mornings, this season’s tour dates are. Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Dec. 5, Jan. 16 and 30, Feb. 13 and 27, March 13 and 27 and April 3.

Now in its sixth year, this popular experience consistently sells out, according to a press release.

This four-hour experience provides an in-depth exploration of the FMYN history and culture, narrated by members of the FMYN tribe, the original inhabitants of the area where the Town of Fountain Hills is now located.

The tour begins at the River of Time, where participants enjoy a light breakfast and watch a short video about the Lower Verde River Valley, introducing the history and culture of the Yavapai.

Afterward, FMYN Culture Center Coordinator Clissene Lewis shares insights into Yavapai history as guests travel a short distance to the nearby reservation.

The tour includes visits to the FMYN Cultural Center and the H’man S’hwa preschool, with highlights featuring an informative drive through the cemetery where Yavapai doctor Carlos Montezuma is buried and a tour of the pecan and citrus groves where participants learn about the various industries that support the tribal members today.

The experience concludes with a full lunch at Ahnala Restaurant at the We-Ko-Pa Resort and Casino, owned by the Tribe, before returning to the River of Time.

Tickets for the all-inclusive, four-hour experience with lunch are priced at $130 ($125 for River of Time members).

A 15% discount in the River of Time Riverbanks Gift Shop is also included. Tickets are on sale for the entire season and can be purchased online at riveroftime.center, in person at the River of Time Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon through Sept. 30 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning on Oct. 1, or by phone at 480-837-2612.
