I graduated from FHHS in 2000. A few years later I moved around the west coast, now living in Los Angeles. Fountain Hills always felt like home. I visit when I can to help my parents as they get older or just to get away from LA.
When I was growing up here, Fountain Hills was the type of place where it didn’t matter who you were or what you believed in, people always treated others with respect. Now we have gay people told they can’t go to certain establishments, people of color being called dirty names on the street and Muslims being told they aren’t welcome in town.
I’ve been very lucky to have been given my own TV series. The message of my show, The Prophet, is simple: love one another. Fountain Hills needs that message more than ever. Even though the show isn’t shot here, I’m hopeful that it will bring tourist dollars to town, as I share the beauty that is Fountain Hills. I just hope that beauty is more than skin deep.
