The Town of Fountain Hills Community Services Department is disappointed to announce the organizers of Slide the City have cancelled their Fountain Hills event.
Residents and visitors may recall that Fountain Hills was the first location in the state of Arizona to host this event in April of 2015. Other areas around the state later hosted the same event in Flagstaff, Tucson and Phoenix. Fountain Hills was expected to welcome the event back for the second year on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Organizers released to following statement early Wednesday.

“Due to the lack of registration for this year’s event, Slide the City Fountain Hills has been postponed indefinitely.
“We will be automatically refunding all registrants over the next 3 days. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.” – Slide the City Organizer.
Low pre-sale numbers are cited as the reason for the cancellation. Registration for this event at the time of cancellation was noted at 400 in pre-sale attendance. At one month before an event date, Slide the City usually sees upwards of 1,000 pre-registered participants.
Anyone who has already purchased their event tickets has been instructed to expect a full refund from the organizers within the week.
If you have any questions or have not received a refund by Friday, Sept. 9, please contact Slide the City via email at jsc@slidethecity.com.
