One would think that everyone would support our state becoming more efficient in the way we use our energy. But that really isn’t the case.
Last week, an Arizona utility company sought permission to get into the rooftop solar business and install it on thousands of Arizona homes for no cost.
This would have been a wise and economical way to control our growing energy needs. But a group of rooftop solar companies fought the proposal, and in doing so, exposed themselves as someone who only really cares about market share and profits, not about the future of Arizona’s energy.
It’s not often that a utility company comes out looking like the victim, but I believe they are in this situation. The rooftop solar industry should be ashamed of itself.
