Steve Phillips’ failure to hear of any beneficial solar installations says more about his hearing (or listening?) than about the technology.
We purchased over 14kw of PV generation, in two stages, and at this time are net generators in our 2450-square-foot home. Plus, we drive our electric car on “sunlight.”
I don’t recall any “low and middle income” people helping us purchase the systems. Yes, we availed ourselves of tax credits, meaning that our own paid taxes were partially diverted from the Treasury toward our systems, covering about 25 percent of the cost.

I look at our PV system as a capital investment that pays a dividend in every dollar saved in monthly electric costs and gasoline. As opposed to the huge tax credits granted to wealthy fossil fuel companies, our tax credits represent a small step toward helping the environment, as well.
