The epistle war entered its third week with at least six letters in the most recent edition of The Times.
These missiles all seem to ignore the many teachings of Jesus regarding tolerance and respecting others; therefore, I suggest it is time to seek a solution which might benefit the town and all citizens.
I propose that we erect a large tower in the Fountain Lake with a long pole pivoted at its top, a seat on the longest end. We would then place each of the letter writers on the seat and dip them into the lake and see who drowns and who does not.

Drastic?
Yes, but it created lasting fame for Salem, Mass. and it would allow more column space for letters about the coming HOA election in North Heights or quotes from Thomas Jefferson.
