Something fishy

The story of the firing of a 25-year-veteran teacher has most certainly gained nationwide attention.

From an outsider’s view in, I can’t go to the School District’s main office and pick up a copy of the “Administrative Hearing Officer’s Report.” And this begs the question: Why hasn’t The Fountain Hill Times published this document in its entirety?

Furthermore, why hasn’t there been an editorial from one of your senior staff about this matter? This is a national news story. Why the silence?

Being from Orting, Wash., we have perhaps the best salmon fishing rivers in the world, I can say for certain, “Something smells fishy.”

(Editor’s note: The complete hearing officer’s report, with rebuttal comments from Pam Aister, was attached to an earlier story on The Times’ website (www.fhtimes.com) and can still be accessed there.)
