The Sonoran Conservancy of Foutain Hills (SCFH) is offering more hiking events through the end of November.
There is a birding hike scheduled for the Fountain Hills Botanical Garden, 11300 N. Fountain Hills Blvd. Friday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 a.m. Birder Peter Herstein leads this hike searching for birds by both sight and sound. There are more than 15 different species found in the Garden. Register for #2158.
Pam Cissik and Larry Mills will lead hikers from the Adero Canyon Trailhead to the “hitching post” on the Andrews-Kinsey Trail Monday, Nov. 20. This is a six-mile round trip and moderately difficult. It starts at 8 a.m. with return at 12 p.m. Register for #2159.

Walk off the Turkey Wednesday, Nov. 29, with a hike on an 11-mile loop starting at the Dixie Mine Trail access from the Golden Eagle Trailhead. The hike includes Coachwhip, Windmill, Bell Pass and Prospector Loop trails in the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve and McDowell Mountain Park. There is a $2 fee to enter McDowell Mountain Park on foot.

Depending on length, two to three liters of water are needed for each person for these hikes. Good hiking shoes and hiking poles are recommended. No dogs on these hikes.
