Sonoran Conservancy to launch new Walk with a Naturalist program

Two Sonoran Conservancy Fountain Hills volunteers are launching a new guided program.

Becky Collman and Tim Schoenfelder are kickstarting Walk with a Naturalist from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on March 10 at the Fountain Hills McDowell Mountain Preserve’s Adero Canyon Trailhead and continuing it with a walk through the Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on March 23.

These in-depth, leisurely paced walks invite participants to slow down, look closely and discover how much the Sonoran Desert reveals with every step, according to a press release. These walks provide an educational look into the soil types, geology, birds, wildflowers and desert ecology of the Sonoran Desert.
