Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (SOTH) is sponsoring a world evangelization seminar, Harvest Focus Workshop, from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, in the fellowship hall.

Rev. Bill Moberly, founder and director of Awakening Lives to World Missions (ALWM), will be the speaker.

“ALWM exists to call, mobilize, equip and network congregations to actively respond to Jesus’ command to take the Gospel to the nations,” said Moberly.

The Harvest Focus Workshop is a tool to mobilize people for the work of missions. It focuses both on the personal and congregational level as it builds on a Biblical understanding of missions, said Moberly.

The workshop will provide practical, hands-on suggestions to enable churches and individuals to improve their missions outreach starting at the level at which they are currently serving.

Moberly travels to churches across the United States to assist them in broadening their world mission vision and involvement. He wrote “Igniting a Passion for Missions.”

As Midwest Regional Coordinator for the Association of International Mission Services, Moberly assisted in planting about 50 new churches in Russia after the breakup of the Soviet Union.
