Is there any wonder why this great country is in trouble? In his recent post, Mr. Schweers clearly illustrates that progressives do not know the Constitution and believe that the country’s chief executive is a ruler, free to do as he personally chooses.
This is, of course, as long as progressive ideals are satisfied. Progressives seem to think that clear wording is just an inconvenient impediment to what they want to achieve. Absolutely incredible.
In his posting, Mr. Schweers has taken clear wording and meaning of the Constitution and twisted it into something the founders would not recognize. They would be appalled.

Don’t know what Constitution Mr. Schweers has read, if he has, but he must have missed Article I, Section 8 and the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
Article I specifies the (very few) powers that states granted to the federal government. And the Tenth Amendment clearly states that all powers not granted are reserved to the states and individuals. What part of sovereignty do progressives not understand?
He even questions whether the Constitution is the law of the land. How far does progressive ignorance extend? Yes, the Constitution is absolutely the law of the land. And laws are only laws if enacted by representatives of the people. Executive Orders are not law.
He takes a swipe at what he calls right wing Arizona state legislators, ignoring extremely radical left wing progressives bent on forcing their ideas on the public. I may or may not like the state legislation, but I support state legislators standing up to extra constitutional action and federal executive usurpation of congressional and state’s rights.
Certainly hope he’s not teaching civics somewhere.
