My husband Boe and I both attended the “Stroll in the Glow” again this year.
It was again a wonderful experience, but different. We enjoyed watching the skaters having fun at the new skating rink. Not quite ice, but just as good for a joyous and fun time for many. As usual, the living crèche sponsored by the Presbyterian Church was a hit with the youngest folks. It was also nice to see the various stores open and the parties at some businesses along the Avenue, and the free cookies, cider or hot chocolate. It looked like everyone taking the horse-drawn ride was having a good time.

Many thanks to the Community Band and other organizations that provided music during the evening. We also want to say thanks to all the businesses that participated and to the Chamber of Commerce for their participation and bringing the skating rink to town. But, of course, we also want to thank the Town for the lighted decorations along the median. We look forward to attending again next year.
My husband and I both love having so many special events that make this such a great town in which to live.
Speaking of special events, we encourage everyone to attend the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony at 10:55 a.m. December 7, the day after tomorrow, as we commemorate the great loss of life on that horrific day that brought us into WWII, when the forces of the Imperial Japanese Navy attacked our Armed Forces in Hawaii and our state’s namesake battleship was sunk. It is a joint effort of three of our town’s wonderful veterans’ service organizations (VFW Post 7507, American Legion Post 58 and Marine Corps League Detachment 1439), and always a moving ceremony.
