Special place

No one wants to pay more than needed in taxes – income, property or otherwise. The Town of Fountain Hills has done remarkably well maintaining services even with substantial staff reductions. But, our aging infrastructure and increasing public safety and fire protection costs can’t be addressed by further staff reductions, more volunteers, or simply ignored.

Our town needs to have a dependable stream of income. A primary property tax distributes costs more fairly than a sales tax. It ensures that all homeowners, whether full or part-time residents, share the costs of running our town.

Approval of a primary property tax doesn’t mean we give up our right to continue to scrutinize spending. And, if spending can be reduced, our sales tax would be a better target for reduction or elimination. Please vote yes for the property tax. It’s a small price to pay to keep Fountain Hills the special place it is to live, work and play.
