The Fountian Hills Planning and Zoning Commission will hear another request for a Special Use Permit (SUP) to allow residential use within a commercial zoning district. This is one more of similar requests heard in recent months.
The commission will consider a request for an SUP to allow residential conversion of existing units in a building in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains, known as The Belvedere Suites. A portion of the building is currently being operated as a boutique hotel within the commercial zoning district.
The application asks for up to five units be converted to residential. Ground floor space currently occupied by office and retail would be maintained for such use.
