During a recent meeting members of the Fountain Hills Rotary Noon Club were honored to host an international group of Rotarians from the Mae Chan Rotary Club in Thailand.

Club President-Elect Carol Acosta, Secretary-Elect Aphinija Gaujina along with Interactors Pang Songchiaittranon and Jeng Kasetsopapan spoke to the local club about their club and their Hmong culture in Thai-land.

Kathleen Madden, past president of the Anchorage, Alaska East Rotary Club, and good friends with the Thai group, also accompanied the Rotarians for the afternoon.

Rotary’s main purpose is service in the community, in the workplace and around the globe. Rotary’s 1.2 million members believe it starts with a commitment to "service above self."

In more than 34,000 clubs worldwide members volunteer in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio.

If one would like more information about Rotary, join the group for lunch every Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

One may also contact Membership Director Darline Leader at 480-816-0330.
