OPINION – I actually hate to put this in writing, but I agree with Councilmen Skillicorn. In my opinion, Fountain Hills shouldn't be wasting money ($3+ million) to widen Shea Boulevard.
I’ve lived here since 2011 and I never witnessed any traffic jams on the short two-lane section of Shea Boulevard. So why spend the money when it could be put to much better use to benefit the people of the town, like fixing our interior streets that are in desperate need of repairs?
However, do not spend a cent toward a Charlie Kirk statue. As I mentioned before, Charlie had no ties to Fountain Hills besides having a few friends that he visited.
