Spirit of 1776

Patrick Henry’s words as quoted from the 1929 World Book Encyclopedia: “There is no retreat but in submission and slavery. Our chins are already forged. Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston. The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring the class of resounding arms. Our brethren are already in the field. Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have?

“Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!”

Most forget that he was speaking those ending words “give me liberty or give me death” not only to Virginia House of Burgesses, but to his God, his solemn vow.

If we do have trust and faith in our fellow citizens, or in ourselves to walk alongside them, or to act properly while carrying unconcealed guns, such that each person is actually protecting “life, liberty…” then we will have allowed the “Spirit of 1776” to die.

Everybody (estimate 80 million individuals) carrying unconcealed guns would be a “re-uniting” in a common bond of strength. Voter lists could be used as a start point to determine those qualified to carry.

Additionally, if you cannot see that law enforcement no longer meets sufficiency of those inoculated to protect those un-inoculated, you fail to understand.

Also, government to never have knowledge of who is carrying real or fake. All trained as if carry real.

With goodwill by both pro and con alike, and enough true understanding of the problem, and problems anticipated, taking all concerns into consideration, then a re-establishment of more than sufficiency is possible.

Long live our Republic 1776.
