Wondering how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year?
Here are three choices.
Fountain Park will be the gathering place for St. Patrick’s Day celebrants on Saturday, March 16.
The Fountain will be transformed into an emerald green geyser twice; once at noon and again at 4 p.m.
The town’s family-friendly free Irish fest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. will include about a dozen food trucks, bagpipers, Celtic music and a children’s play zone.
Individuals 21 and older will have access to a beer garden if wearing a wristband to purchase beer tickets. Beer tickets are $8 each.
The Kilted Spirit Band will perform for one hour between 1 and 2 p.m. Bagpipers will take the stage at 2 p.m.
Traveler, a Celtic rock band, will play from 3 to 5 p.m.
O’Green Market
Magic Bird Festivals will bring back its Fountain O’Green Artisan Market Friday through Sunday, March 15-17, in the median along the Avenue of Fountains from Saguaro Boulevard to N. Verde River Drive.
The event is free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., each of the three days.
Magic Birds Festivals owner Roberta Toombs-Rechlin said she expects about 100 fine arts and crafts exhibiters, local food vendors and live music.
Sunday Fountain
On Sunday, the actual date for St. Patrick’s Day, the Fountain will turn green at noon. There will be no organized activities in the park.
