Star power

I’m so glad Senator McCain has announced that he will seek re-election.

I know he has many dissenters, but if they’d stop and think about the serious challenges we are facing, it is hard to believe anyone would sacrifice wisdom, experience and “star” power for a rookie.

There are few who get the stage Senator McCain can command and almost no one with his world-wide knowledge. With the world on fire, he is the voice of wisdom on what is happening on the ground.

Arizona is a huge beneficiary of many of the things he has fought hard for in the Senate, including the F-35 fighter jet. He pushed for 10 years to get it completed and then made sure Luke Air Force Base would be the training center for pilots from all over the world.

With problems like our current drought and national security on the forefront, we are lucky that he has chosen to continue his efforts on our behalf.
