The starvation budget that our community has lived on for so many years has obviously deprived the town of its ability to invest in its citizens and the town’s future. Is additional decay really what we’re willing to live with?
From a positive perspective, many town councils have provided commendable services to the community in making financial ends meet. In doing so we now have a very lean and efficient town staff, but unfortunately there is no longer enough money to take care of essential repairs/replacements.
Sure, recent councils may have made a few blunders along the way, but they’re human; just like everyone. To residents who remain angry about some recent decisions, why don’t you step up and become a town council member?

Has the time come to forgo the starvation budgets of the past and invest more to advance our community’s well-being? To do so requires a primary property tax. Continuing to ignore realities is not the answer; the price tag will simply increase.
