The boys tennis team finished in second place at state while the baseball squad prepares to head to the semifinals this weekend.

The boys tennis team played Pusch Ridge Saturday evening in the Division III state championship match, losing a close competition at 5-3. The Falcons finish the season as the state runner-up.

Over to baseball and the Falcons have now cleared the quarterfinal round of the state tournament after besting Mingus Union 12-2 early Saturday afternoon. The Falcons take on Chino Valley in the semifinals Friday, May 10, at 4 p.m. That game will be hosted out of Surprise Stadium.

If successful, the Falcons will go on to play the winner of the Empire/Payson game the following evening in the championship round.
