Statues

Erecting a monument called Fred and Ginger (which is not pretty or appropriate by a fountain surrounded by a bobcat, heron and coyote)…doesn’t this beat all?

Who the heck are Walter and Betty? Now everyone who chooses to pay for having a statue made of themselves, and call it someone who is known, can be part of our beautiful park just for wanting it.

I am thinking about a memorial of myself and dog and calling it Lassie and Tim and writing an entire story about the lives of Frank and his dog attached to this statue.

Come on Cultural Association, get real with whom we commemorate or beautify. Fred and Ginger (Walter and Betty) are not it.

The brass leaves on the pillars, benches, trees – these show a little class for the people who love our Fountain Park and want to be remembered in style, not ostentatiously, but beautifully.
