Maricopa County Sheriff’s detectives are still looking into an armed robbery incident at the Verizon store in the 16000 block of Shea Boulevard on Tuesday evening, March 1.

The store manager told deputies an African American male subject came into the store and displayed a handgun demanding money and to have the safe opened. He was wearing a dark hoodie and his face was almost completely covered.

The suspect walked out of the store with $250 in cash and four Samsung 6S smart phones.

Capt. Dave Letourneau said deputies have been collecting surveillance video from various businesses in the vicinity and are in the process of reviewing it.

MCSO used a helicopter to search the area with the possibility the man left on foot. However, they soon learned the suspect got into a white four door vehicle with another driver and left the area headed west on Shea Boulevard.

Letourneau said they are working with Scottsdale Police to check video on cameras along Shea Boulevard to the west.
