Appears drivers are not aware where to stop their vehicle when coming to a stop sign or traffic light. So many stop in the crosswalk or do not come to a full stop.
Drivers who stop in the crosswalks place pedestrians at risk by blocking other drivers’ views of pedestrians, and pedestrians’ views of other vehicles. If your vehicle’s wheels are still moving, then you haven’t stopped, even though you think you have (could get a ticket).
Ever notice there is a solid white line (12-24 inches thick) in many intersections before or after a stop signs and before at traffic lights? This is there to indicate the point at which the vehicle stop is intended or required to be made. This line is called stop lines or stop bars. Your initial stop should be behind this line, not past it, but before it.
