Aha, finally the voice of reason and sanity! Thank you Mr. Michael Jones! When did the opinion page in an American newspaper turn into a radical religious stage?
Shame on Rick Ponzo, Clifford Vick, Mr. Pierce and Mr. Lawrence. My Bible does not tell me to spread the message of hate and intolerance. Perhaps you will next call for the public thrashing of the kind and tolerant Pastor Felten who wishes to bring all of God’s creation back to the church.
In the United States, freedom of religion is a constitutionally protected right provided in the religion clauses of the First Amendment. This belief is now considered by the majority of people and nations to be a fundamental human right, as is the right to not be persecuted for your religious beliefs.

Whether it is called “progressive theology” or some other term meant to demonize a religious or political idea, true Christians need to remember why this country was founded and abide by the Constitution!
Religious zealots turn Christians away from the church with their rigid, unyielding beliefs that only their interpretation of the Bible is correct; even if they deny their motives.
Pastor David Felten speaks the word of God with open arms. Perhaps, he does so in hopes of bringing Christians and young people, who have turned away from the church in alarming numbers, back to the church. Pope Francis also has made this his ambition in life.
If you feel others’ Christian viewpoints are not right because they differ from yours, the person to discuss this with is God and do so in your silent prayers, not in a public newspaper in the United States of America!
Stop spreading hate. The far right politicians across this country have that job covered.
