My family has found Fountain Hills an ideal place to call home. Almost everything a person would want can be found here without going to the Valley; fine restaurants, good medical care, great grocery stores and much more, plus fine living conditions and most often in view of our fabulous fountain. My wife and I settled in 10 years ago from Iowa and continue to marvel at our environment.

I rarely complain about the good life here in Fountain Hills, but I do want to make a suggestion to the city fathers. It is high time to install a stoplight at the corner of E. Palomino Blvd. and Eagle Ridge Drive. Many of us travel to work via Palisades and the stop at that corner is ridiculous. If you put a “car counter strip” on that stop, and counted cars in both directions, it would knock your socks off. Talk about a waste of gas. This corner is a prime example.

I have already written to several town leaders, probably to the wrong ones, and yet have never received a response back, thus this letter to the editor in hopes that others feel the same as I do and would be willing to “put a little pressure on” the town leaders who could get this done.

Just imagine having to stop at the corner of Palisades and Sunridge Dr. each day on your way to and from work. The Town installed a traffic light there a while back, and for good reason. Undoubtedly, the installation would be expensive, but what a great improvement it would be. So Fountain Hills, let’s get it moving. I thank you for your consideration.
