Storm brings record rainfall to Fountain Hills

Gauges record 2-plus inches

Heavy storms pelted Fountain Hills and the Valley most of Wednesday, bringing with it flooding.

Of the eight Maricopa County Flood District gauges around town, many collected over two inches.

Hesperus Wash saw the most rainfall with 2.32 inches, followed by the Cloudburst Wash two miles northwest of Sunridge Golf Course, which received 2.13 inches while the Stone Ridge Dam, a quarter of a mile west of Cholla Drive, gathered 2.01 inches, just under half of its yearly total of 4.84 inches to date.
