Brittany Pomales to read her children’s book ‘It Started with a P’ Saturday, Aug. 23

Atticus Books & Music will host a special storytime with local author Brittany Pomales on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m., featuring a live reading of her debut children’s book, “It Started with a P.”

The event is geared toward young readers and their families and will include fun extras like activity sheets, crown decorating and stickers to keep kids engaged.

“It Started with a P” follows the imaginative tale of King Liam, a young boy who, on the eve of his birthday, has a terrible dream that something starting with the letter “P” will ruin his big day — only he can’t remember what it is. In a panic, he bans everything that starts with “P,” from pancakes to pants to party guests, leading to a problematic situation.
