We have been out of town most of the summer and upon returning realize the Fountain Hills School Board has had to make some challenging decisions recently.
We would like to applaud the School Board for taking a strong stance. We voted for these School Board representatives to represent us, the taxpayers, in this community. They serve joyfully in a volunteer position under high stress.
Whether people agree or disagree with the decision made a week ago Monday, none of us in the Fountain Hills public has all of the “facts” of the recent issue. The School Board has had an executive session over this issue and every executive session is confidential with only the five School Board members and sometimes legal representation. In these sessions, they discuss information that surfaces in a confidential manner...similar to what is done with our experience with corporate board of directors.

We are grieved that there is controversy at this time “in public” regarding the School Board...especially when so much “good” has been accomplished through our voters passing the $8 million school bond and almost $8 million school override last November.
Just wait a few weeks when our residents will observe all that has been accomplished with our public schools recently in the form of physical improvements. It is quite a sight to see!
We wanted to take this opportunity to commend our School Board for working so passionately to make our district the best it can be! It is our observation, knowing personally each School Board member, that they always make decisions to the best of their ability in the best interest of our teachers and students.
