Suggestion

I walked around Fountain Lake on the Tuesday after Memorial Day and was pleased to see that the new blue recycling containers are getting used. The bad news is that lot of them are getting used as garbage containers.

It appears that many people aren’t willing to walk more than roughly 20 feet beyond a recycling container to get to a garbage container and instead opt to put their garbage in the recycling container, thereby defeating the intent of adding the new containers.

Suggestion: Since isolated recycling containers invite misuse, locate the garbage and recycling containers in pairs. This will also help keep recyclable items out of the garbage.
