Fountain Hills Unified School District is gearing up for the 2015 summer school program, with registration occurring between April and May.

This year’s summer school will once again be hosted out of the middle school.

The first session for high school credit courses will run from May 26 through June 10. Session two will run from June 11 through June 26. Middle school credit courses will be held from June 1-26. Non-credit courses will run from June 1-25.

This year’s summer school program hosts 35 enrichment courses (ceramics, photography, cooking, robotics, etc.), 16 sports courses (football, soccer, martial arts, jazz dance, etc.) and 16 middle school and high school credit courses in the areas of math, science, language arts and social studies.

A brochure with full details on hours, cost and additional requirements can be picked up at each FHUSD main office. These brochures include a full breakdown of the programs offered, as well as detailed descriptions for each of the available courses and a registration form.

Registration can be carried out in three ways. Walk-in registration is held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria on Tuesdays, April 21, May 5 and May 19.

Registrations may be dropped off, along with payment (cash/check only) at any FHUSD front office.

Registration may also be carried out online at any time by visiting fhusd.org and selecting the “Summer School” option at the bottom of the page. Only credit card payments are allowed with this option.

Special applications are also available for next year’s EVIT students, who may take credit courses free of charge. Scholarship opportunities are also available for credit classes and potentially for non-credit classes, too. The application form for scholarship opportunities is also found on the summer school page at fhusd.org.

Bus services will be provided for Boys and Girls Club students. Students will be bused over in the morning and returned to the club for lunch. Students taking part in this program will need to bring their own sack lunch.

For further questions, contact summer school director Dr. Paul McElligott at summerschool@fhusd.org or call 664-5573.
