Crews with Chaparral City Water Co. were able to repair the water main break, backfill the trench and lay down permanent pavement by Saturday morning. The 12-inch line ruptured Thursday, closing that section of Sunridge Drive.
Additional traffic restrictions will continue into next week, however, due to other utility work under streets.

Sunridge Dr. back open; other restrictions

Sunridge Drive at Palisades Blvd. was opened back up Saturday, earlier than town officials had anticipated.

Additional traffic restrictions will continue into next week, however, due to other utility work under streets.
North- and southbound Saguaro Blvd. at Palisades will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Sunday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 2, for a water main repair.
East- and westbound Shea Blvd. will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Sunday through Tuesday between Fountain Hills and Palisades boulevards for a gas line installation.
Work has been ongoing for those two projects during evening hours this past week.
