We are supporting Mayor Linda Kavanagh’s reelection for two main reasons.
First, we admire her dedication to our town. There is scarcely an event of any kind where you won’t find her present and enthusiastically backing residents’ efforts to enrich life in Fountain Hills.
Second, we agree with her approach to governing, which is to put the basics first and then add extras as the budget allows.

We disapprove of Ginny Dickey’s skipping the hard work of gathering signatures to get on the ballot and then trying to waltz into office as a write-in.
And we’re surprised that The Fountain Hills Times has given candidate-forum space to someone who is not on the ballot. What if a hundred people decided to “run” as write-ins? Would the Times give them all space to present their ideas? We doubt it. So why extend this special privilege to one?
We appreciate Mayor Kavanagh’s capable, positive leadership and we’re happy to support her with our votes.
