Support our local schools

Recently I received multiple checks from the State Treasurer as refunds from the Qasimyar lawsuit for overpayment of property taxes from 2015-2021.

Many school districts in the Valley were notified they had to return significant sums to the State Treasury due to receiving money from these overpayments. The Fountain Hills Unified School District was notified it owes almost $2 million back to the state, which is money they sorely need.

I urge all residents who receive such refund checks to do as I did and donate some or all of their refund back to FHUSD. Of course, this would be in addition to the yearly $200/$400 tax credit to FHUSD that everyone should also specify on their state tax return. Our local school district needs all the support it can get!
