This is in response to John Kavanagh’s sneaky letter to the editor as published last week. Why sneaky? Because our illustrious state senator, former town council member and husband of the current mayor feigned “surprise” as if this was merely an innocently dispassionate report by a casual observer.
Instead, his clear intention was to smear Ginny Dickey by impugning her support from Arizona List and by the local cannabis prescription dispensary, an in-town and licensed business. Ginny has said that she does not repudiate either, believing that women should make their own decisions and that there should not be an attempt to denigrate a legally operating local business which helps many.

However, of more interest to me is the revelation that this same Kavanagh’s PAC received a $2,000 contribution from Cheryl Shea, wife of Bart Shea, who is the principal of N-Shea Group, developer of the Park Place project. That’s the same Park Place which is becoming notorious for having flouted its developer fee obligations, its public art agreement and its early pronouncements of intent to provide affordable housing in Fountain Hills.
The town document listing this contribution may be found at fh.az.gov/DocumentCenter. Search for “Good Government Committee” and select the second quarter report. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
