Survey: FH leads AZ suburbs

Fountain Hills is the leading suburb in Arizona for a “booming’ economy, according to a survey compiled by Coldwell Banker Real Estate.

Coldwell Banker released its “Top Booming Suburbs in America,” survey in June, which places Fountain Hills at the top of the list for Arizona with a score of 874.18 out of 1,000.

The survey is the final part of Coldwell Banker’s Best Places to Live series.

The Booming Suburbs survey ranked 1,500 communities based on several criteria. Those include year-over-year employment levels and unemployment percentages below the national norm.

The survey also considers a range of attributes including access to suburban staples such as grocery stores and banks, proximity to good schools, commuting by car and community safety.

The survey standard of 1,000 was set by Cottage Lake, Wash. a community about 21 miles from downtown Seattle. Washington dominated the list with four communities scoring in the top 10.

In preparing the survey Coldwell Banker partnered with Onboard Informatics, a provider of real estate information and technology.

The Booming Suburbs list includes only communities with a population equal to or greater than 22,275.
