Susan Kesterson

Susan Kesterson, 62, of Scottsdale, passed into eternal life with her Savior Jesus on July 6, 2017.

Susan was a cherished wife, sister and wonderful friend. She was a woman of strong faith in Jesus, an encourager of almost everyone she knew, and had an uncommon kindness.

She loved deeply and was the love of her husband’s life. She is survived by her loving husband, John, of 33 years of marriage; mother, Shirley Louise Hopley; sister, Kathy Cade; brother, Frank Hopley; sister, Nancy Hopley (deceased); and sister, Shirley Werft.

Susan was the youngest of five children born in Omaha, Neb. and raised in Atlantic, Iowa. She moved to Tucson, where she met her husband, John, in 1977. They were married several years later in 1984. Susan and John moved to Scottsdale in May of 2017 after living in Austin, Texas, Grass Valley, Calif. and Seaside, Calif.

Susan will be greatly missed by so many that have known the joy of her friendship, and especially her husband who experienced that once in a lifetime love with her. She was a giver and a lover, and had the sweetest sense of humor.

She was a devoted follower of Jesus and served in several churches in several ministries including music ministry, Bible studies, and outreaches to prisons and homes for the elderly. She had the voice of an angel, and she truly loved to lead people in worship of our Savior.

There will be a memorial service for her at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14, at Calvary Chapel of Fountain Hills, 13215 N. Verde River Drive, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.
