Susan Lesniak Stolki, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed from this life on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Fountain Hills at the age of 68.
She was born in Oak Park, Ill. on Sept. 24, 1945 to Frank and Florence Stolki (Pasterski).
She grew up on the northwest side of Chicago, Ill. in the neighborhood of Belmont and Milwaukee Ave., attended Carl Schurz High School and Northern Illinois University, and married William (Bill) Lesniak on June 18, 1966.
Susan had a long and successful professional career that spanned two states and touched many lives. She was a wonderful organizer with tremendous generosity of spirit who always put others before herself.
She overcame many obstacles throughout the years with her physical and spiritual health, and handled everything with great acceptance, courage, wisdom and dignity. Faith and family were a cornerstone of the life she built in Fountain Hills.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Krzywicki (Ray), and her brother, Frank Stolki (Joan). She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Beth Szwiec (Ron); and her grandson, Andy Szwiec. Also, her brothers, Tom Stolki, Bob Stolki (Cathy), sister-in-law Sandra Lesniak, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. We will all remember her with great love and be deeply grateful for so many memories.
A memorial mass and celebration of her life will be held at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, 12615 N. Fountain Hills Blvd., Fountain Hills, at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the gathering at the parish hall immediately following it.
